In his four years of service, Bill Werkheiser has been recognized for his leadership abilities among his peers as his role and responsibilites have increased.
At the beginning of his second term, Bill was appointed Majority Deputy Whip. This allowed Bill to work with the House leadership team vetting legislation during the process before it was allowed to come to the House for a floor vote.
As Werkheiser approached his fourth year in office, Speaker David Ralston appointed Bill as Chairman of Industry & Labor. Bill's leadership role helped protect Georgia's reputation as one of the best climates for businesses. Senator Blake Tillery related a story in March which reflected Bill's persistence and ability to negotiate an outcome which advanced those with disabilites. That story can be found here .
