About Bill Werkheiser

     Bill Werkheiser began serving Evans, Tattnall and Wayne Counties in 2015 as a Republican for the Georgia State Representative House of Representatives.

     Werkheiser is a local businessman who has owned and operated Southeastern PrinTech for 30 years up until he sold the business in 2016. He currently owns commerical and residential properties and enjoys traveling.

     Bill is a 1982 Cum Laude graduate of Georgia Southern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology. His shop was awarded top awards from Crouser & Associates, the largest printing consulting group in the industry. Werkheiser served as financial secretary of the Southeastern Print Performance Council, which is a small network of printing companies located in the Southeastern United States. He has spoken twice at the National Association of Quick Printers in Washington, D.C., and New Orleans.

     Bill has served his local community as president of the Glennville Chamber of Commerce, Tattnall Chamber of Commerce, Glennville Rotary Club, and Glennville Merchants and Professionals Association. He is a graduate of Leadership Tattnall has served as Chairman of the Reidsville Airport Authority where he is a licensed pilot. He is a member of the 2018 Republican Leadership Georgia class.

     Bill and his wife, Kathy, are members of Glennville First Baptist Church where Bill has served as deacon, sunday school teacher and youth team leader. He serves on the music praise band as a drummer each week. Bill is a member of the Gideons, whose goal is to distribute Bibles internationally. Recently, Bill has become involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry, which conducts weekends similar to the Emmaus Walk to the inmates at Smith State Prison.

     While at Georgia Southern University, Bill became involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and served as president while a student. He is now a Board member of East Georgia FCA where he has served as Chairman and Treasurer.

     Bill and Kathy live in Tattnall County where Kathy is a Registered Nurse and works as a Travel Nurse in Labor and Delivery.  They have four children: Brett, Courtney, Russ, and Ashley.

     Brett and Brittany served in the Peace Corps in Kenya. Brett graduated from LSU (undergrad) and Johns Hopkins University and is working in Atlanta at Routematch. Brittany obtained her BSN from Kennesaw State University after graduating from Georgia Southern and is currently working in ICU at Wellstart Paulding. They have two children, Kailer and Ava.

     Courtney graduated from Georgia College and State University and worked as a Special Ed teacher. She is married to attorney Owen Farist who graduated from the University of Georgia and Mercer Law School. He works at Gregory, Doyle, Calhoun and Rogers in Marietta. Courtney now stays at home with their son, Baker and is expecting a baby in August.

     Russ graduated from Georgia Southern University and is a Logistics Manager at Canadian Pacific railroad. He live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

     Ashley is married to Chase Colwell. They both graduated from the University of Georgia. They are living in Augusta attending Augusta University. Ashley is majoring in Occupational Therapy and Chase is receiving a Masters in Counseling while working as a DFACS case worker.
